Lesson SequenceLesson 1:
  1. Use this activity as an extension for the unit Colors, Shapes, and Symmetry. Start by reviewing symmetry examples from the unit.
  2. Explain that reflection symmetry is also called line symmetry because the line is the separation between the reflected images.  
  3. Distribute a sheet of paper with a fold line along its center, some glue, and several pairs of yarn strands.
  4. Glue symmetrical designs made from yarn pairs onto one half of the paper and create a mirror image on the other half of the paper. Share completed works.
